Adoption

Agapé in action

God calls us to care for the most vulnerable among us:
“Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world” ~James 1:27

Why adoption?

The challenge

It is sometimes hard to imagine, but there are millions of children worldwide who have lost their parents. Children without a network, no perspective and without a safe, loving environment. There is also a significant shortage of adoptive parents in the Netherlands, despite the fact that we are a prosperous and Christian country. The command that God has given us is clear: “Take care of the orphans and widows.” This is not just an appeal, but a moral responsibility that we should not ignore as a society.

Mission and Vision

God's call

House van Agapé makes God's unconditional love visible by giving children a safe and loving home. We break financial barriers, activate the Body of Christ, and support families to embrace orphans. Together, we respond to God's call to care for orphans.

We dream of a world where no child has to grow up without love or a warm place. We see thousands of Christian families standing up, opening their hearts, and responding to God's call to assist orphans. By working together as the Body of Christ, breaking barriers, and sharing God's unconditional love, we are building a future where children grow up safe and God's kingdom becomes visible in every generation.

God's plan

When God spoke to Kasper and Cassidy about adoption, they didn't hesitate for a second. They applied directlyand exactly the same day it was announced that the Netherlands would close the international adoption process for new applications. A few months later, it appears that they are among the last group that can adopt internationally. Adoption within the Netherlands remains possible, but there is a shortage of adoptive parents here. In politics, decisions and opinions can go from left to right in a short time, but God does not change and His mission always stands: “Take care of orphans and widows (including intercountry)!”.

Kasper and Cassidy are currently in the process of giving their first adoptive son, daughter, siblings or triblings a warm home. They are open to everything, domestic or foreign, baby or older child, medical assistance or not.
